Water. Air. Sunlight. Plentiful food.
Enough and more for all 8 billion of us
And infinite little critters too
Skies and fields and forests and seas
She gives us rain and fire and wool and wood
Eyes to see and ears to hear and lips to kiss
Hearts to feel and minds to think and hands to work
We have everything we could ever want All around us
Yet some of us are sick with greed
Some of us would sacrifice our mother
Some would sacrifice each other
Intergenerational trauma inflicted by patriarchy
Industrialized blindness of scientific mindlessness
Accumulated madness of over-accumulated wealth
And for this we would kill her
For lack of will we would let her die
The hummingbirds
And dolphins
And flowers
And you and I and those we love
Will we abandon each other
To the sickness that has taken hold
Or can we acknowledge
That it is up to us
To save our mother
And ourselves too
While we're at it
Nobody else will do it if we do not
We must fight
With love in our hearts and our minds and our hands
Love for our mother
And love for each other
Love for the birds in the sky
And the fish in the sea
And the ants in the dirt
They count too
We need them too
We cannot live without them
We love you ants
So yes
There is a war
But we will not fight over scraps
Or oil
Or skin
We will fight to overcome ego
Overcome fear
Overcome hate
With love and courage
For our ancestors
And our children
And our children's children
All of us
All of us who are capable of love
We will fight hand in hand
And we will win this war together
And we will enjoy the fruits
Of our mother earth
Who gave birth to us all
You will love your mother
Love your mother you beautiful fool
All together now
We will love our mother
All together now
We
Love
You
